86th Hawley Reunion Returns to Connecticut, October 4-6, 2018

Join us where the Hawley family started – in charming Connecticut

This year we will slow down the pace a bit and visit the country. Save the dates of October 4-6, 2018. We will be at the beginning of Connecticut’s fall foliage season, with the northern parts of the state just starting to peak. It’s the perfect time to plan a trip to this little New England state.

Home base will be minutes away from Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks. This is the home of the New England Air Museum where we will learn about Connecticut’s role in the history of Aeronautics. A few miles down the road is Windsor, the first town settled in Connecticut in 1633. We will explore the history of the earliest settlers of Connecticut. From Windsor Locks, we will wind our way by bus across country roads for a scenic tour of the Litchfield Hills, including the historic towns of Litchfield, Norfolk, Colebrook and Riverton.

Please save the date and join us in October in the state where immigrant Joseph Hawley planted our family tree so many generations ago.

Registration information to come soon to the website and the March issue of the Hawley Bulletin.

Alison Hawley-Washington - Do you know if we will be staying in Philadelphia or near Valley Forge? I may want to book a couple extra days in Philadelphia and do some research as my mother’s side of the family settled Germantown, PA around William Penn time frame. Depending if we do Valley Forge first, and Philadelphia second or opposite, I may book a few days ahead or a few days at the end of the trip to do this research.ReplyCancel

      Linda Hawley - Alison,

Did you receive our recent newsletter? The two hotels are given with rates, etc. We have been given the Hawley rate for 3 days before and after, which will fit you perfectly. We will tour Historic Philadelphia on the Friday of the event. Valley Forge on Thursday. You will stay in Valley Forge/King of Prussia area. As far as renewing your dues, since we are still trying to put together the information from the last few years, I can’t answer you. You can hold off paying your dues until we meet in October, or earlier once we have established a new bank account for the Society.
      Hope this answers your questions.

      Regards,

      Linda HawleyReplyCancel
